Activity Report: View Acknowledged Announcements
The Activity Report can help you identify which workers have acknowledged (viewed) an announcement. To do this, first filter the report to show Announcements, then apply the acknowledgement status filter. This is especially helpful when announcements are being used for “read and understand” communications rather than formal sign-off.
What this means
- “Acknowledged” in Activity Report = the user has opened/viewed the announcement and that event is recorded.
- Announcements generally capture views/acknowledgements, not signatures. If the customer needs a signature, use a Site Briefing workflow instead.
When you’ll use this
- A customer wants proof that a message was seen (for example a safety notice, updated site rule, or policy reminder).
- You need to export a CSV list of who has/has not acknowledged a specific announcement.
Step-by-step
Common issues
Customer expects “signed off,” but only sees “acknowledged/viewed”
What to check
-
Announcements track views/acknowledgements, not signatures.
What to do
-
If a signature is required, recreate the content as a Site Briefing (or other sign-off-required workflow) and report from that workflow instead.
Multiple entries for the same user and the same announcement
What to check
-
A user can appear multiple times if they viewed the announcement more than once (for example during check-in and/or via their profile).
What to do
-
If you need a single “has acknowledged” list, export to CSV and de-duplicate by user, or filter to the relevant date range.
The report is slow when trying to review acknowledgements
What to check
-
No date range can load full history, which can be heavy for large customers.
What to do
-
Narrow the date range and/or filter to a site/project before exporting.
Why this matters
- It gives customers a practical audit trail for communications without needing manual sign-off sheets.
- It helps site teams follow up with people who haven’t yet seen critical updates.
Need help?
If the acknowledgement data doesn’t appear as expected, confirm the announcement was actually presented to users (for example included in the relevant check-in flow or accessible to the user type), then re-check the Activity Report with the announcement filter applied.
