Add/Remove Site Inductions from a Site

Site inductions help manage who can check in and access a jobsite by ensuring the required safety steps are completed first. Use this when a site needs a specific induction to be added to, or removed from, that site’s list of entry requirements.

What this means

  • Adding a site induction assigns an induction requirement to one specific site, so workers/subcontractors may need to complete it (and sometimes get host approval) before they can access the site.
  • Removing a site induction unassigns that requirement from the site, so it no longer blocks or prompts people as part of that site’s entry conditions (depending on your setup).

When you’ll use this

  • A new site starts and needs its Site Induction and/or Visitor Induction added to the site.
  • A site changes process (new induction version, different requirements) and you need to update which inductions apply.
  • A site no longer needs an induction requirement (for example, an old or incorrect induction was assigned).

Step-by-step

    Common issues

Induction doesn’t appear as an option to add

    What to check

    • Confirm the induction template exists in the Inductions area (it must be created before it can be assigned).
    • Confirm it was created with the correct type/scope (some inductions are intended to be site specific, while some are company wide. Company wide inductions will not show as an option to add under site settings, as they are automatically added, providing they are active).

    What to do

    • Create the induction first (Inductions > New Induction), then return to the site and add it under Sites > Site Settings > Inductions.

People can’t check in after adding an induction

    What to check

    • Confirm whether the induction is mandatory and whether it requires host approval.
    • Confirm whether visitors are limited by type (for example, the induction might be set for Site Employee/Subcontractor only).

    What to do

    • If host approval is required, make sure the site host is ready to review and approve pending inductions.
    • If the wrong worker types are being blocked, review the induction’s visitor/type settings and adjust as needed.

I removed the induction, but people are still being prompted

    What to check

    • Confirm you saved/updated site settings after removing it.
    • Confirm you removed it from the correct site (if you manage multiple sites).

    What to do

    • Reopen the site’s Inductions settings, confirm it’s no longer listed, and save/update again.
    • If your company uses additional entry conditions (other documents or briefings), confirm those aren’t what’s triggering the prompt.

    Why this matters

    • Keeps your site entry requirements accurate so the right people can access the site safely and compliantly.
    • Reduces check-in issues caused by missing or incorrect induction setup.
