Manage Off-Site Induction Settings
Off-site inductions allow workers and subcontractors to complete required induction steps before arriving on site by using a link or QR code. Use this when you need to enable or disable the off-site induction experience, or update what is sent, so people can complete their inductions remotely.
What this means
- Off-site inductions are completed remotely (not during on-site check-in).
- In the current UKI flow, off-site induction instructions are typically managed through the Supplier Document Request email content (so the right link/QR and instructions are sent to suppliers).
When you’ll use this
- A company wants workers/subbies to complete inductions before arriving on site.
- A company wants to stop sending the off-site induction link/QR in invitations.
- You need to adjust the wording, link, or QR code shown in the onboarding email.
Step-by-step
Common issues
Off-site option/link isn’t showing when expected
What to check
- Confirm the off-site section is actually included in the Supplier Document Request email content (and saved).
What to do
- Re-add the off-site section (link + QR + instructions), save, and send a fresh invite to test.
Off-site induction link/QR is being sent to the wrong people
What to check
- Whether you’re relying on the default email template vs editing per-invite.
What to do
- Keep the default template clean and consistent, and only remove the off-site section in the invite email for exceptions.
Workers say they can’t access off-site induction
What to check
- Confirm you’re sharing the correct link/QR for that site/company’s setup.
- Confirm the site’s project settings aren’t preventing off-site behaviour (some setups require specific site settings to allow the off-site flow to appear).
What to do
- Re-share the latest link/QR from the platform and confirm the site settings allow off-site inductions.
Why this matters
- Reduces delays at the gate/check-in by letting people complete induction steps before arriving.
- Keeps the onboarding experience consistent across suppliers and sites.
