Request Revision of an Induction

This article explains the process for requesting a revision when a worker’s induction submission is incomplete or contains incorrect information. Use this option when the worker needs to review their responses, make the required updates, and resubmit the induction for approval.

What this means

  • Requesting a revision sends the induction back to the worker to update and resubmit.
  • Once the worker revises and resubmits, the induction typically needs to be reviewed and approved again.

When you’ll use this

  • A worker submitted an induction with missing or incorrect details.
  • An uploaded file is missing, unreadable, or the wrong document.
  • You need the worker to confirm or correct information themselves rather than editing it as a host.

Step-by-step

Common issues

Worker says they revised it but it still shows pending or incorrect

What to check

  • Whether the worker actually resubmitted after making changes (not just edited and exited)

What to do

  • Ask the worker to check back in, complete the changes, and submit the revised induction.

Revision request is unclear and the worker submits the wrong fix

What to check

  • Whether the revision request message clearly calls out the exact field or document to update

What to do

  • Send a new revision request with a more specific instruction (what to change + what “good” looks like)

Host wants to fix it directly instead of asking the worker

What to check

  • Whether Host Revision is available to you and appropriate for the situation

What to do

  • If you need the worker to confirm details themselves, use Request Revision
  • If it’s a simple correction and your role allows it, use Host Revision instead.

Why this matters

  • Ensures the worker is responsible for providing accurate information
  • Reduces compliance risk by making sure the updated induction goes back through the normal review and approval process
