Review an Induction

This article explains how to review a worker’s induction submission and what steps to take if changes are required. It is useful when an induction is awaiting approval or when you need to check the submitted details for compliance purposes.

What this means

  • Reviewing an induction means opening the worker’s submitted induction to check the answers, attachments, and required acknowledgements.
  • If something is wrong, you can request changes from the worker, or (if enabled for your role) update the induction using Host Revision.

When you’ll use this

  • A worker has submitted an induction and it’s awaiting approval.
  • You need to verify details before allowing the worker to work on site.
  • A worker submitted incorrect information and it needs to be corrected.

Step-by-step

Common issues

Changes didn’t save after editing

What to check

  • Whether you completed the final confirmation at the end of the Host Revision flow

What to do

  • Re-open Host Revision, make the changes again if needed, and confirm at the end to save

Worker resubmitted changes and it needs re-approval

What to check

  • Whether the worker (not the host) made the changes

What to do

  • Review the updated submission and approve again (worker revisions typically require re-approval)

Can’t edit the induction, only view it

What to check

  • Whether you are viewing a PDF-only version in your portal/workflow
  • Whether your permissions include Host Revision

What to do

  • Use the workflow available to you (approve/reject/request changes)
  • If Host Revision is required, escalate to someone with the right access or use the supported pathway for your environment

Why this matters

  • Ensures workers are inducted correctly before starting work, supporting safety and compliance
  • Prevents rework by catching missing or incorrect details early
