Why do I get a "New Login" Notification when trying to Log-In?

This notification is a security feature that appears when Breadcrumb detects a sign-in that looks like a new or repeated session. It may also appear if your browser is not keeping the session active, which can result in you being asked to sign in again.

What this means

  • “New Login” means the system detected a sign-in attempt that looks like a different session, browser, device, or login path than it expects.
  • It does not always mean someone else is in your account, but you should still treat it seriously if you don’t recognise the login attempt.

When you’ll use this

  • You see a “New Login” notification every time you try to sign in (or you get stuck in a login loop).
  • You can log in sometimes, but get logged out quickly or repeatedly need to re-authenticate.

Step-by-step

  1. Confirm you’re using the correct login link for your region and update any saved bookmarks/favourites to the correct portal URL.

  2. On the login screen, select “Keep me signed in” (if you see this option), then sign in again.

  3. If you still get the notification or the login keeps restarting:

    • Clear your browser cache/cookies for the Breadcrumb site, then try again, or

    • Try an Incognito/Private window, or

    • Try a different browser (or a new browser profile)

  4. If you have multiple Breadcrumb tabs open, close all tabs, then open a single fresh tab and try logging in again.

Common issues

Using an old or different saved login URL

If you’ve bookmarked an old link (or you’re using a different portal URL than your account expects), you may be repeatedly routed through login and trigger “New Login” alerts.

What to do

  • Update your bookmark to the correct portal login URL for your region, then try again.

Session not being saved (login loop)

If your session is treated as “current session only,” closing the tab/window or not saving the session can cause repeated sign-ins and repeated “New Login” notifications.

What to do

  • Select “Keep me signed in” and retry. If it persists, clear site data (cache/cookies) for Breadcrumb and try again.

Multiple sessions detected in the same browser

If the system detects more than one active session, it may invalidate a session and force you to log in again, which can trigger repeated notifications.

What to do

  • Log out, close all Breadcrumb tabs, then log in again using just one tab.

Why this matters

  • These checks help protect sensitive site and worker information by detecting unusual sign-in activity.
  • Fixing the underlying cause (incorrect URL, session not saved, browser data conflicts) usually stops the notification from repeating.
